Apro oggi una serie di recensioni sulle mie knit designer preferite.

Sono tutte donne, più o meno giovani e che si sono fatte strada in questi ultimi anni emergendo dalla rete in campo internazionale.
Devo dire che i loro modelli mi piacciono tutti e ad ogni nuovo cardigan, maglione, gilet che tirano fuori dai loro ferri mi fanno fare una serie di Ohhh Ahhh e mi mettono addosso una voglia di fare Cast-On Cast-On che:

UNO non ho spazio a sufficienza;
DUE mi ci vorrebbe uno stipendio soltanto per comprare lane e bottoni;
TRE del tempo ne vogliamo parlare?
QUATTRO mi sta venendo il tunnel carpale ad entrambi i polsi a furia di fare Knit 'n Purl!!

Tant'è che io le adoro tutte e sto anche diventando una vera feticista. Oltre ad avere quasi tutti i modelli, libri pubblicati compresi, mi regalo anche le loro cose personali, quando c'è la possibilità :))

I loro nomi? Eccole, ve le presento velocemente.

Ysolda Tegue E' giovane, bella e talentuosa. Di lei ammiro anche lo stile personale, come si veste e si pettina... stilisticamente parlando non sbaglia un colpo, tutti i suoi pattern mi piacciono da morire, anche se ancora non ne ho finito uno, ma conto di terminare al più presto il Coraline.
Cecily Glowik MacDonald Cecily è l'eleganza fatta persona. I suoi modelli sono eleganti e bellissimi e ne ho diversi sulla mia lista.
Stefanie JapelSiamo in New Mexico qui!! Questa ragazza mi ha convinto prima con i suoi corsi on line e poi con i suoi modelli freschi e molto vestibili. Sto ultimando uno dei maglioni proposti nel suo libro "Fitted Knits" e devo dire che sono soddisfattissima del risultato, che vedrete presto su questi schermi.
Gudrun Johnston Ho in lista almeno quattro dei suoi modelli e davvero non so quale iniziare per primo. Sono stupendi!
Melissa LaBarre Coautrice con Cecily Glowik del libro "New England Knits", anche di lei ho un sacco di modelli in lista.
Emma Fassio a lei devo la mia riscoperta della maglia, beh non serve che Vi spieghi chi è no? L'amiamo tutte!
Cristiana Scoperta da poco come designer grazie a Cuore di Maglia, ma è stato amore a prima vista. Il mio bollicine è disegnato da lei.

Il mio regno per un bottone

Il mio amore per i bottoni risale alla mia infanzia. Mia nonna era proprietaria di un Pulisecco - Lavanderia con annesso un Atelier, all'epoca, viste le sue abilità sartoriali, aveva diversi clienti della Provincia "bene" che venivano a farsi fare gli abiti su misura proprio da "Donna Peppina". Ricordo perciò che mia nonna aveva un vasto assortimento di cartine con bottoni meravigliosi che le donne sceglievano con cura per i propri abiti, era la seconda metà degli anni '70 - e le signore sulla 40ina erano tutte molto belle nei tailleur ed abiti in georgette abbottonati davanti.
Ancora oggi adoro sentire il ticchettio dei bottoni quando li muovi per cercare quello giusto, mi piace affondare le mani dentro una scatola zeppa, l'odore e le emozioni che suscitano. Sia io che mia mamma, prima di buttare una vecchia camicia, abito o giacca recuperiamo i bottoni, perchè al giorno d'oggi nelle mercerie mi dispiace vedere che si siano ridotti a plasticaccia anonima e per altro carissimi.
Ora con il fatto che mi sono data alla maglia questa passione ritorna utile, e capita che curiosando in un negozio d'Antichità la proprietaria mi tira fuori una scatola ("di solito non li vendo sa? Li tengo per me, perchè possono sempre servire se c'è da cambiare qualcosa in qualche vecchio capo vintage") con dei bellissimi bottoni per il mio "Coraline", che ora non vedo l'ora di finire!

E poi vuoi mettere? Chissà cosa hanno già visto quei bottoni! Sono così innamorata della vita Bohemienne che fosse per me tornerei indietro immediatamente, non per nulla vivo con la testa fra le nuvole :))
E forse anche per questo scelgo modelli dai nomi frizzanti, come il Bollicine per esempio, finito oggi ed in tempo per essere fotografato qui.

Il tempo è sempre poco, ma fervono comunque grandi progetti! Tra cui anche il KAL di Stephen West al quale non ho proprio potuto resistere.

La rete mi manca, ma grazie all'Iphone riesco ad esserci comunque almeno un minimo.

Knitto knitto e vado dritto

Eh si eh, sono qui cosa credete? Solo fa troppo caldo per stare al pc, le mie amiche knitter poi sono in ferie, ma nessuna di noi batte la fiacca
sia chiaro, nono, anzi... Macinano tutte km di maglia e mi fanno venire le bave con post su filati da favola, a me che dovrei chiudere il portamonete a doppio laccio ed invece compra wolmeise come se piovesse (ultima eh, ancora una che devo beccare Limone!)
Però nel frattempo ho svuotato 2 project bag (riempiendole immediatamente con altri due progetti). Ecco una carellatina di foto.

- lo scialle simil ishbel, non ho capito se c'era un errore nel pattern o se ho sbagliato io a contare fatto sta che la parte lace non mi batteva il nr di maglie, al che l'ho smontato prima di completare la parte lace dai ferri e lo indosso così com'è.

Il cardigan effortless invece si è rivelato una delusione, appena scarico le foto vi mosto il disastro... Ho palesemente sbagliato la taglia, trattasi di una xxxl credo, su di me è enorme!

I due nuovi progetti sono in cotone, si tratta dello Jane sweater, una maglietta retrò bellissima secondo me, mi sono azzardata ad usare un cotone filo di Scozia rigidino che spero si sistemi con lavaggio e stiraggio, però il giallo mi piace troppo ed ho scoperto poi dalla mia amica Tibisay che quest'anno è pure molto gettonato sulle passerelle di moda!

E poi sto lavorando ad un top meraviglioso di una designer italiana, Cristiana che con il suo Bollicine è entrata di diritto nella mia top ten di designer preferite!

Bollicine fa parte del booklet summer lace by cuore di maglia.

Ahimè purtroppo questo mese appena passato mi sono persa l'appuntamento con lo Stitch 'n spritz per altri impegni con la famiglia. Per consolarmi mi sono messa di buona lena e sono già arrivata a metà dello scialle di cui vi ho detto nello scorso post, che per la cronaca si tratta di Ishbel di Ysolda Tegue.

Shawl mania

Ha fatto molto caldo in questi giorni e quindi di tenere una maglia in grembo non se ne parla, i due progetti languono, e dire che dell'effortless (rinominato endless) cardigan mi manca soltanto una manica e la rifinitura dei bordi a coste :o)
Il coraline resterà un po' tranquillo xke se no la merino 100% che ho scelto mi si infeltrisce in mano. Ho iniziato invece un nuovo scialle con una bellissima wollmeise acquistata a Pasqua su eBay, il modello è di Ysolda Tegue. Lo sto lavorando con i ferri circolari addi nr. 4 anche questi da eBay. Il bello di questo scialle è che è leggero da trasportare e quindi ci lavoro oltre che di sera anche di martedì e giovedì in pausa pranzo, non è difficile quindi incontrarmi in centro tra l'una e mezza e le due e mezza a sferruzzare, dirò di più, giovedì lavoravo a maglia camminando, ho incontrato 2 colleghi perplessi ed una mi ha detto che inizialmente pensava che stessi armeggiando con il telefonino ;)
Ho attirato l'attenzione ed ammirazione da parte di una turista che alla fine mi ha scattato una foto fingendo di fotografare marito e figlia, sarà
stata una maglista? Chissà se finirò a mia insaputa in qualche blog.

Intanto tra dritto e rovescio ultimamente mi sto appassionando al vintage, vi mostrerò appena avrò tempo di scrivere dal pc fisso e non dall'iphone :)

Royal wedding mania

Visti i tempi così poco romantici, dove scandali ed escort ormai sono all'ordine del giorno, ho urgente bisogno di fiabe e mondo a colori. Non credevo ma il matrimonio del principe William con la dolce Kate Middleton ha fatto sognare me e le mie amiche. La ragazza poi si sta rivelando piena di fascino ed eleganza, oltre ad avere gusto nello scegliere gli abbinamenti giusti, noi magliste abbiamo notato una particolare predilezione verso capi in lana & co. Questo meraviglioso scialle è stato protagonista di mille discussioni in Raverly, si dice sia in cashmere 100% e qualche designer si è lanciata per scrivere il replica-pattern.

C'è anche questo top cardi in angora o mohair, bellissimo!

Insomma se proprio non possiamo sposare un principe, accontentiamoci di knittare capi da principessa ;-)

incertezze

Capita a volte di non sentirsi al 100%, ma più spesso a me capita di non sentirmi nemmeno al 10%.... Oggi è una giornata di quelle.
Fuori c'è il sole ma noi siamo tappati in casa, come quasi per tutto l'inverno, sono passati di qui trentamila virus, l'ultimo 3 settimane fa ci è costato 5 giorni di ricovero in ospedale, una brutta gastroenterite virale è costata a Marco 4 giorni di flebo, lui già mangia poco di suo, dopo questa scossa la ripresa è lenta, e da 2 giorni sta male di nuovo, febriciattola, raffreddore, tosse e forse l'otite e sicuramente una bella congiutivite :o)
Come mamma mi sento un disastro, una ce la mette tutta, ma hai il dannato lavoro e non puoi stare con tuo figlio, no, devi andare a lavorare, e quando arrivi a casa hai da fare anche le faccende e rubi altro tempo al tuo piccolino, quando sta male poi stai a casa ovvio, ma... senza paga, perchè l'aspettativa per malattia del bambino non è retribuita, e quei giorni te li tolgono dalla busta paga, che già sul part-time non è che ci prendi tanto... eh, già, ma poi quando torni al lavoro, con il morale sotto le scarpe, stanca perchè ti sei barcamenata tra visite dal pediatra, fazzoletti moccolosi, notti tormentate oltre tutto il resto, ti devi anche subire gli sguardi di chi pensa che "ah, beh, sei stata a casa e ti sei riposata" mentre loro poverini sono li con il culo sulla sedia a farsi venire la gastrite per cose talmente stupide che ti verrebbe voglia di trasformarti in Michael Douglas in "un giorno di ordinaria follia" e sparare a destra e a manca...
Mi sento inadeguata, quando mi saltano i nervi per la stanchezza, quando penso che sono io che scoppio e ci sono altre mamme che stoicamente vanno avanti meglio e più forte di me....
Però, io oggi mi sento un palloncino nell'aria, sbattuta di qua e di la, senza meta... avrei una bella mappa, piena di disegni e punti fermi, me la sono disegnata e la conosco a memoria, è quella via che vorrei seguire, che vorrei trovare... ma ho perso la rotta ed i miei compagni di viaggio si sono sparpagliati, non sono più quelli.
La maglia mi aiuta a sfogare la tensione, ma in quest'ultimo periodo sono così stanca alla sera che dopo 1 giro di ferri casco dal sonno e vado a dormire.
Qualche settimana fa ho finito però lo scialle Shaelyn. Ho usato la lana tinta da me e poi anche 2 gomitolini diversi che avevo ricevuto in regalo: la rosa tinta unita è una sock yarn di wildfirefibres mentre il bordo finale l'ho fatto con un campione omaggio di "Bourrette-chinée" ricevuto da la droguerie.

ci si alza all'alba almeno qui :)
Da qualche settimana Marco dorme tutta la notte ed io mi sono abituata ad alzarmi presto, così questa mattina ho già sbrigato un po' di faccende domestiche e forse ho ancora una mezz'ora di tempo libero e posso fare un post! Notare: sono le 7.37 di domenica mattina :))

Lo scorso incontro con le ragazze dello stitch n spritz è andato divinamente, mi sono tanto divertita e sul finire abbiamo anche deciso in una spedizione di massa alla mitica "bancarella delle lane" in Viale XX settembre. Infatti c'è un signore con lana del biellesse a prezzi stracciati che ormai ha un appuntamento fisso a tutte le manifestazioni cittadine che prevedono i mercatini, lui credo sia romagnolo, a vederlo ci da anche di birrette e dorme poco :)) però ha pacchi di lana merino e misto cashmere che ogni volta fa sbavare noi laniste quasi anonime. Tant'è che ho preso anche questa volta un pacco di 10 gomitoli di lana colore rosso per fare il coraline, e della lana bianca da tingere. Si perchè ormai io e le mie amiche (leggi Tibisay, KnittingCakes, EvaOwl), siamo presissime con la tintura della lana, questo è il secondo riuscito esperimento con il kool aid.

L'ho già messo in lavoro, sono a metà di uno scialle estivo, lo shaelyn.

Su Raverly comunque ho 571 preferiti, vuol dire che c'è un potenziale di 571 progetti da fare, senza contare quelli contenuti in libri e riviste che voglio assolutamente fare... mi sta prendendo una specie di smania, ce la farò?? quando, come?? durissima la selezione del prossimo progetto, intanto ne ho 3 ongoing :)

E si avvicina l'estate lo so, ma non ho ancora messo mano al cotone, resiste la lavorazione con la lana, ed ho messo le mani su 2 partite di NORO Silk Garden, di cui questi due gomitoli con i quali vorrei fare lo yoke del Garter Yoke Cardigan

Vado a svegliare il cucciolo, buona domenica!!

Veloce veloce perchè devo attaccare con lo sferruzzo ;)
Vi ricordate che qualche post fa vi ho parlato del Kool Aid?
Ebbene le bustine con la magica polverina tintoria (ok, lo so, dovrebbe essere una bevanda, ma io non ci penso nemmeno) sono arrivate e potevo io aspettare troppo prima di pasticciare?
Non vi dico i salti mortali che ho fatto per riuscire a trovare il momento giusto... non ci credete? Ok, ve lo dico... Ieri ho finito di lavorare alle 17.15, passo a far spesa, il pupo è dalla nonna ed avviso che potrebbe anche cenare da mammà, così guadagno una mezz'ora di tempo (mamma sta a 2 passi, nello stesso condominio ;)); arrivo a casa, metto 30 gr di lana per il pre-soak in una bacinella con acqua ed aceto, lascio li a bagno mentre rassetto casa. Finisco alle 19.10 in punto di riordinare, strizzo delicatamente la lana e preparo il bagno con il kool aid ed il tutto per la cottura in forno a micro-onde, beh.... alle 19.30 la mia lana fumante aveva preso già un bel colorino... e da asciutta mi piace un sacco!

E' solo un test, e credo che mi cimenterò in altri incredibili esperimenti, magari con più tempo....
ah, il pupo sono andata a prenderlo alle 8.00, il tempo di arieggiare bene la cucina, perchè saranno anche non pericolosi dal punto di vista chimico (sarà poi vero con tutta quella acidità? E tenendo conto che comunque la bibita non è destinata alla cottura?), fatto sta che l'odore del "Grape", uva era piuttosto forte e così ho preferito dare bene aria prima di andare a prendere il mio pargolo per non ubriacarlo con cotanto dolciastro profumo.
Well, sono le 22.30 e vado a dare 2 giri di ferri prima di crollare giù distrutta...
Come? Domani è sabato? Seeee non esistono più sabati e domeniche, :) qui ormai sveglia all'alba fissa, ma non mi lamento, anzi sono felicissima con la mia dolce creatura che cresce e sgambetta sempre di più... ah, da ieri dice anche "Cacca", lo dice con la c che declina quasi in gh, ed ha associato bene la parola al significato, infatti quando dice "Mamma, Cacca", dopo 4 minuti netti la fa.... :)) Mi sa che presto switcheremo al vasino.

Sto knittando ogni sera, ma i miei buoni propositi di un progetto alla volta è già andato a farsi benedire!
Ok, mi dico è solo un test pattern, ma tant'è che ho più di un progetto sui ferri. Quindi l'effortless cardigan continua ad essere in progress, e poi c'é iris poncho, un pattern che sto testando per Unite contro il cancro.

Domenica è alle porte, e ci sarà l'incontro con le ragazze dello stitch n spritz, incredibile come vola il tempo!
Vorrei avere più di 2 mani per fare tutti i progetti che ho in mente di fare!! E poi ho paura che tra un pò abbandoneremo i gomitoli di lana per il cotone....
Poco male, ho visto della Rowan bellissima!!!
Infine, sto meditando un destash, ho un sacco di stoffe ed amenicoli vari che forse non toccherò più.... Ci penso ancora un pò e poi vi faccio sapere.

Stitch 'n Spritz n.4

La settimana appena trascorsa è stata piena di impegni e non ho avuto il tempo di mettermi al pc, anche se morivo dalla voglia di farvi un resoconto del 4° Stitch 'n Spritz, un appuntamento cittadino ormai consolidato, dal momento che oggi sul nostro quotidiano locale "Il Piccolo", Tibisay e Knittingcakes sono immortalate e fanno bella mostra del nostro evento nella pagina degli appuntamenti culturali con tanto di articolo sullo stitch and bitch! :)

Ci siamo divertite, abbiamo chiacchierato, knittato, brindato e siamo state felici di avere con noi anche l'ospite internazionale, Andrea da S. Diego, California, con i suoi ferri circolari Addi da 2mm che ha knittato un bellissimo porta Iphone, cominciato in aereo e completato proprio durante l'incontro. Ahimè non sono presente in nessunissima foto stavolta, ma per l'occasione avevo indossato il LFS e la gonna rosa abbinata fatta da me, vorrà dire che ricreerò la mise a casa e mi immortalerò in cotanto splendore, con tanto di tacco... vero Tibisay?!!

Tornando alla maglia, finito il LFS, ho iniziato l'effortless cardigan e poi, in questi giorni nonostante mi ero ripromessa di non farlo, di assolutamente finire 1 progetto prima di iniziarne un altro, ecco qui, ho fatto il cast on.... di un paio di mini calzini... vedremo che cosa ne uscirà, è la prima volta che lavoro alle calze.

Durante l'incontro poi Eva ha acceso la mia curiosità riguardo la tintura della lana con metodi pressochè naturali (o quasi), lei ha sperimentato il bagno di colore nel micro-onde con il kool-aid, una bevanda americana, (la berreste voi sapendo che si riescono a tingere le fibre e che la tintura non scolora??!!).

Ho già provveduto ad ordinare le bustine, e se avrò mai tempo voglio provare a tingere questa lana qui, ne ho 500gr ed è naturale, proprio adatta all'uso!

Stitch 'n Spritz

Hi, 2 post in just one week?!!! I'm so trilled to can't wait to say it to all of you my sweeties!

I've joined a knitting group held by the lovely Tibisay of ArtTherapy, and yesterday I've got my first meeting. Those wonderful knitters meet once a month in a lovely and sophisticated location, the Eppinger Cafè.

I follow Tibisay and Tsugumi's blogs from months now, and when they announced the new meeting I decided to join. The stitch 'n bitch becomes stitch 'n spritz (from spritz aperitif). I was so happy to attend the meeting, there were so many interesting and nice people, and I enjoyed the knitting and the chatting afternoon.

When I got home, my little one looked at me this way, he seems wants to say:

- hey mom, you looks like you've got much fun! :))))))))
- Oh yes, my lovely boy, I've got a lot of fun :))

Am I converted to knitting?

Is this that my lovely readers may are thinking from a lot of month.
To be honest is the same think I'm thinking too, because lately I am obsessed by yarn, browsing knitting and crochet pattern, finish and starting a new project... carry my project bag filled by the cheerful yarn and snuggle on my fashion interchangeable knit picks needle.... the great things of knitting and crochet is that you can work everywhere, and even better if this "everywhere" is your sofa :))

*grin*

but mind you, the sewing bug is only sleeping, because at the time I have so little spare time and so many other important things to take care, first of all my son that turned 15 month the last sunday.

As you can see in that photos I've got some hour to make the perfect interchangeable knitting needle case for me, I looked far and wide to buy one, but couldn't find one that I like, so I decided to make it my own. I really love how it turned out, don't you think?

I've also started a new cardigan for me, and can't wait to share it with all of you the finished project.

knitting in the night

So it goes for this year in this Manner, just one month post, hope the next year I can manage to do one post a week :)
I took a pause from crocheting the past month, and jumped into night's knitting, I felt in love with Emma Fassio patterns and I have done two of her knit model in just three weeks.
The first one is the Caponcho, it's an acronym of Capellet and Poncho, and I really love it!

The pattern was so easy to follow and I couldn't stop to knit and made it in just one week, working only one hour per night.

I finished the second one yesterday, just in time for my Birthday :)

This is the Mormor Shawl and I really love it, as the caponcho it was really easy to make, Emma's patterns are really simple and well written, I think I will make more! For this project I've used a hand dyed 100% organic merino wool from Wild Fire Fibres and I loved to work with this yarn.

In need of good vibes

Hi there, I feel in need of good vibes in here, my little one has fever, it's about 1 month that he felt ill, and every one week the temperature goes high.... I need some lovely though in here, anyway tomorrow we will have urinalysis just to be sure there is no infection. You can imagine how I'm feeling....
Last month I have designed a new travel tea bag holder pouch, this time is crocheted and I'm really happy on how it turned out.

I will list a lot of them into my etsy before or later, so stay tuned!

This morning I found a copycat on Etsy, that's so awful! She is Italian and is really sad having people like this that still ideas to other and write "Original" on their etsy shop and listing. Anyway I have compared the listing of this person with the properly member, and report it to etsy admin. One of the copied listing it's my own design.... my original travel tea bag holder pouch, do you remember of them?

I will relist them when I will have the time to sewing again ah ah.

Let me say that it's ages, ages, as would you read it, inward or backward that i do not write post on this blog.
Simple as drinking a glass of water, I hadn't much time to do it.
I miss you all and today I saw my followers become ONE HUNDRED!

Ok, I don't know if I will have the time to write another post on Monday, so I will anticipate it a bit. This morning I made a list of all the crochet project I want to make, hard to decide wich one will be the first and at the end I decided that the smallest will be the first and so on till the last one on my list.
I ended up that there are so many interesting stories and lovely women behind the projects ispired me, so I want to share some of them with you my lovelies =)

So, after my Lucy's bag will be finished.....

I will manage with those:

And then... a new cotton blanket, not sure wich one, I love so many at this time...

Bunting in the night

Good monday everyone!

Veggies for Marco's lunch are already washed and the pot is on fire, the little one is sleeping so I can take 2 or 3 minutes for myself and blog, yaiii!!

Well, the next monday I'll start working again, it will be orrible to go back to work after a year and a half I am at home-mom... the good thing is I'll working part-time till my son's first birthday.

Sooo let me think to positive things now, and let me show you what I made this past week.
On the other monday I've started working on my Lucy's bag, I've already added more rows than are shown in the picture, but I haven't took other new photos of the ongoing project.

I've also received the Lucy's Yarn Pack from First 4 Yarn, and I must say that the Rico cotton is delicious!! The colours are bright and it is very soft to the touch. I love it and I think I'm going to make a blanket in the next future.

On Friday I've added a touch of Shabby - Chic interior furniture to my chicken, a hand paited towel hanger I found for just a few euros in a cute local shop, cute doesn't it?

And on Saturday night, after having put Marco to bed, I've got two busy hour making a bunting garland to decorate his bedroom wall....

I always looked at bunting garland and I felt a bit intimidate about it, but I've just started with some simply collage and colored pencil and at the end I was satisfied by the result.

Fabric + Crochet = A dress!

Do you remember my secret project? As I mention here I was in need to go to my mom to complete it. So, on sunday me and the little one spent the afternoon to my lovely mom and while she looked after Marco, I was able to complete my secret project!

I've used some ideas from the the web to make it, for the top I altered the chart of this pattern and for the dress I've just sewed a tube and attatch it to the top. You can find a tutorial on how to make a tube dress at the Verypurpleperson's blog.
That's all!! It's too hot to sit in front of the PC today!!!

Week end Mix

Good Morning!! The week end started with the house cleaning to be done, I wake up early this morning so at 9.00 I completed all that boring work.
Marco is growing and I was lucky enough to take a shoot of his first stand up alone :)

Yesterday I've got a walk with Marco and my mother at the city centre, my mom make me happy with a gift... while I was sigh at a yarn's shop window, she come in and bought me 14 new colorful yarn!!

I felt so cheerful and lucky to have such a lovely mom :)) Now I have yarn enough to make the Lucy Bag or ripple blanket, I'll see.

This week I worked on the crochet edging for my cup's shelf, I almost finished it, I think it will be finished for the next week end.

This week I also surfed a lot the web and got oh and ah to many more lovely sites and blog, I felt ispired and definitely hooked at hook!
I will make a "share the love" post very soon and show you my favorite blog at the moment.

Completed one, started another

Hello my lovelies, we have had very hot wheather in those past week end and I was feeling very very lazy, but at the same time my hands doesn't stop and keeps going on the granny squares project, they turned out in a sofa cushion, I just appliqued it on a cushion cover, too lazy to make all that mess by cutting fabric, sewing edges, making a "real" cushion myself, I'm pleased with the result instead.

Well, finished one, I've started another hooky project, I didn't took picture of the crochety one, but I will show you for what and in wich colors I'm making it :)
I want to make an edging for the cup's shelf on my kitchen, I was lucky enough to find the yarn in the same colors of the tiles.... Am I lucky, did I?

Ok, that's all for now ladies, my little Marco is calling me!!! Moooommmmaaaa :)

The missed weekend reflection

Hello! I missed my weekend reflection post, but this past week and week end was busier than usual. Marco was Baptized on saturday, and till friday we was getting ready for the party after the Baptism.

Despite the tiredness in the evening I crocheted some new grannies block, I have not a specific project in mind, I'm still pondering whether to make a pillow, a bag or something, we will see.

Meanwhile the project I show you last week is at my mom's home, I need the sewing machine to finish it, and since mine is locked in the cupboard under piles of other things, I'm waiting for a spare afternoon to go there and complete my Secret Project.

So, here we are... I want to show you Marco's creative space :) Isn't it lovely?
He is in the rolls phase so I layed some blankets and a quilt on the floor to prevent he beat his head on the parquet :)

Days are running like the wind in here! I'm weaning Marco, so each day is extremely long and busy, I cook, cook, cook, try to make him eating the pap, still breast feading him, changing pad, taking bath etc.

I usually get up at 6.30 in the morning and I fall asleep at 23.00. The last one hour, if I'm not completely destroyed, I crochet.
I have in mind a precise project and I will blog about when I'll finish it.
For now, there is just a sneak pick of it and a mumble thumble for the week end!

I wake up at 6.30 am this morning after breast feeding my little one, he decided to keep sleeping, so I treat myself with a big cappucino, my actual favorite magazine and some crochet!

Week end reflections: Ufo

The other day we was in need of a light bedcover so I pulled out an unfinished quilt that was just waiting to have the border sewn by 6 years! You know, when you have to do because you need something, you do it, and now my aged UFO (Unfinished Object) quilt is finally finished.

So today my week end reflection is about UFO, is our life comparable as how many ufo we have in our craft closet? I have tons of UFO!! and into my daily life it seems I can't be very organized as I'd love to. So my reflection this day is to try getting more organized... and pulled out another UFO from the closet and try to complete it soon, I will let you know.

Non c'è niente di meglio che iniziare il week end dolcemente giusto? Sabato mattina mi sono alzata presto ed approfittando del fatto che il pupo ora dorme fino alle 9.00 ho deciso di prepare un dolce per la merenda del pomeriggio, li ho chiamati "I finti muffin alla banana".

Finti perchè hanno gli stessi ingredienti dei muffin, ma le dosi sono leggermente diverse, infatti risultano più morbidi e meno spugnosi dei muffin ed in cottura gonfiano un po' meno, ma sono strepitosi.

Vi lascio qui la ricetta, sono facilissimi e veloci da fare.

Ingredienti:
------------
130 gr. di farina
10 gr. di lievito vanigliato istantaneo in polvere
125 gr. di burro fuso
100 gr. di zucchero
1 uovo intero
2 banane.
------------
In una terrina mescolate insieme gli ingredienti secchi (farina, lievito e zucchero).
Frullate le 2 banane a parte ed incorporate un uovo intero.
Aggiungete il burro fuso ed il frullato banane-uovo alla terrina con gli ingredienti secchi e mescolate incorporando aria dal basso verso l'alto con una paletta per dolci o un cucchiaio di legno. Non serve rimestare molto, bastano una decina di giri ed il composto è pronto.

Riempite uno stampo grande o più stampini per muffin ed infornate a 180° per 25 - 30 minuti. Fateli raffreddare e servite spolverandoli con lo zucchero a velo.

Ed ora veniamo ad altre cose belle e piacevoli!! Tipo un pomeriggio con le amiche del punto croce e già che ci siamo... Vi racconto un po' delle mie specialissime amiche-zie :))

Domenica pomeriggio ho partecipato, dopo tantissimo tempo che non mi facevo vedere, all'incontro del pc-fvg a casa di Gaya. Come da tradizione quando nel nostro club nasce un bambino, ecco che le amiche si trasformano in meravigliose zie che ricamano e cuciono per il nuovo nato. E queste instancabili ed abilissime donne hanno fatto la coperta anche per Marco, con dei simpaticissimi Snoopy ricamati ed assemblata a patchwork con il motivo della sawthoot star. Grazie ancora ragazze!

come si può notare qui sotto Marco Rodrigo ha già capito che è sua e sembra apprezzare il regalo proprio come la mamma.

Già che ci siamo Vi mostro anche altri regali ricevuti in questi mesi. Qui sotto potete vedere dei blocchi patchwork con le barchette. Sono stati realizzati da un altro gruppo di amiche al quale sono legata da tantissimi anni tra le quali spiccano celebrità del mondo del Patchwork italiano, loro sanno chi sono e siccome voglio mantenere la cosa intima, Vi mostro solo i blocchi ricavati da stoffe di camicia senza far nomi. I blocchi sono 24 ed un giorno li assemblerò in un quilt, perchè in questo gruppo vige la regola "ad ogni bambino il suo quiltino" :)

"Zia" Gaya era stata la prima a venire a trovarci in ospedale quando Marco è nato ed è arrivata con questo cappellino fatto da lei, e finalmente Marco è diventato abbastanza grande da poterlo indossare. Non è un amore?

Dopo le scatole handmade, questa settimana ho pensato ad un altro modo carino e sempre eco-friendly per confezionare i miei stitch markers.

This week I tought another cute and eco-friendly way to packing up my stitch markers.

Ho trovato questo modello di Gift Box Bag e poi le ho decorate con quello che sarà il mio loghino Ecologico per quanto riguarda le confezioni.

I found this Gift Box Bag template, I've printed it on recycled paper, decorate it with my eco logo and here is it, Cute, don't it?

E' incredibile come vola il tempo! E' passato un mese dall'ultimo post e non me ne sono nemmeno resa conto. Ovviamente il mio intento di scattare 1 foto al giorno è miseramente fallito, dal momento che mi sono fermata a metà gennaio... Vabbè pazienza, sarà per il prossimo anno, intanto mi sto godendo il mio essere mamma a tempo pieno e questa è la cosa più bella del mondo.

It 'amazing how time flies! It 'been a month since last post and I have not even realized it. Obviously my intent to take 1 photo a day has failed miserably, since I stopped in mid-January ... Oh well patience will be for next year, meanwhile I am enjoying my being a full-time mom and this is the greatest thing in the world.

Con il passare dei mesi la mia sicurezza cresce ed anche i ritmi si fanno più scanditi e precisi, con un figlio bisogna pensare ed agire in multi-tasking :)

Over the following months my confidence grows and even the rhythms are more precise and scanned with a child must think and act in multi-tasking:)

Anche se il tempo è pochissimo e nell'attesa di tirare fuori nuovamente la macchina da cucire, ho deciso di ritagliarmi ugualmente un momento creativo durante la giornata ed è per questo che Vi presento qui il mio alter ego:

Solo pochi minuti di tempo da dedicare al blog, il mio piccolo si è addormentato, ma di solito ho poca autonomia, con oggi fanno 6 settimane che è nato, è già cresciutello, sono diventata gelosissima e le foto non mi va di metterle qui sul blog, ma vi assicuro che è cambiato rispetto ad un mese fa. la Babette Blanket

ed un nuovo arrivato: uno scaldacollo verde melange, che sto realizzando con i ferri circolari più meravigliosi che ci siano: I Knit Picks!

Per il momento ho piazzato lo scaldacollo nella MIA project bag, (realizzata per etsy, era la "Spring Basket Bag" ma dal momento che il negozio è chiuso fino a data da destinarsi, ho deciso di farla mia!).

This is another project I've started before my baby delivery... I finished one mitten, at the time I don't know when I will have the time to start to cast on the second one :O).

Come tutti gli hobby, anche la maglia ha un infinito mondo di accessori e cose deliziose che rallegrano il mondo del craft. Fino a qualche tempo fa pensavo che fare a maglia volesse dire un paio di gomitoli ed un paio di ferri, al massimo di misure diverse e con unica variante che a me rimane sconosciuta perchè non so come si usano... i ferri circolari. Invece no! In questi giorni ho avuto il tempo di gironzolare e scoprire un sacco di accessori stupendi per fare a maglia. Cosa dire di questi ferri circolari in legno tutti colorati? Bellissimi!

e poi... ho scoperto gli Stitch Markers. Dei segna punti bellissimi, fatti con le perline! Se ne trovano di tutti i tipi, ma la cosa più bella di tutte è che sono facilissimi da realizzare. E ieri ho deciso di fare il mio personale set di 6 stitch markers. Eccoli!

mancano 2 giorni... speravo che il mio piccolino si decidesse a nascere prima, ma mi sa che a questo punto rispetterà la scadenza del 15 ottobre.
Nel frattempo, oltre alla babette blanket ho coinvolto mia mamma in un progetto a maglia. Da che sono piccola ho il ricordo di mia nonna che usava regalare un paio di scarpine fatte a maglia ogni volta che si verifica una nascita in famiglia, così fanno oggi le mie ziee e mia mamma. Sia io che mia sorella che le mie cugine, abbiamo un paio di scarpine fatte da mia nonna.
Quelle che faceva lei non le ho mai viste in giro, perchè con il suo metodo risultano senza cuciture sotto alla pianta del piede, pur lavorando coi ferri normali. Stavolta ho ingaggiato mia mamma, che ha imparato da mia nonna per farmi mostrare come si fanno queste scarpine, ho voluto trascrivere il modello ed ora, dopo averle confezionate a mia volta, ho deciso di rendere omaggio a mia nonna e ne ho fatto un pattern, per ora in Inglese, che sarà disponibile su Ravelry e su Etsy. Al momento il modello è in fase di testing che ho commissionato ad una Ravelry Tester Americana, appena mi darà l'ok a procedere il modello sarà disponibile in formato .pdf per il download. :) Intanto eccovi l'anteprima della copertina.

2 days remaining... I hoped that my little one decided to be born, but at this point he will respect the due of 15 October.

Meanwhile, besides the babette blanket my mom get involved by me in a knitting project. Since I was a child I have memories of my grandmother who used to give a pair of knitted booties every time there is a birth in the family, so do my aunts and my mom today. Me, my sister and my cousins have a pair of booties made by my grandmother.
Those that she make I never seen around, because with her methods are no seams under the sole even if are made using normal knit needle. This time I hired my mother, who learned from my grandmother, to show me how to make these booties, I wanted to write down the model and now, after having testing and packed a pair of them, I decided to pay homage to my grandmother and share this method with knitters around the world. I made a pattern, for now in English, which will be available on Ravelry and Etsy. Currently, the model is under testing I have commissioned to a Ravelry's Tester, when she will give me the OK, the pattern will be available as .Pdf to download. :) Meanwhile, here's a preview of the cover.

Ecco un piccolo aggiornamento sulla mia Babette Blanket, questa settimana ho terminato 21 blocchi da 4 giri, in totale sono 49, quindi me ne mancano ancora 38.
Il mio bimbo dovrebbe nascere tra 10 giorni, ma io sono qui che trepido e spero che nasca già in questa settimana :)

Il 2 ottobre c'è stata una sciagura in provincia di Messina, un'alluvione ha spazzato via molte case in diversi Comuni - Giampilieri, Scaletta Zanclea, Altolia, Molino, Briga Marina e Briga Superiore...

ancora si contano le vittime e 500 persone sono state sfollate dalle loro case.

Ecco... io sono particolarmente coinvolta perchè Briga Superiore è il paese dove ho trascorso la mia infanzia, e tutte le mie estati fino a 20 anni. A Briga Marina andavo al mare ed a Giampilieri ho diversi amici. Giampilieri e Briga Superiore sono adesso paesi fantasma, ieri c'è stata l'ordinanza a lasciare le case, gli abitanti sono stati sfollati... il Presidente del Consiglio, Silvio Berlusconi ha detto in conferenza stampa che si riconstruirà, come è stato per l'Aquila, ma in siti diversi da quelli alluvionati, questo vuol dire che un pezzo della mia esistenza è stato spazzato via dal fango e dall'acqua, e se non potrò più tornare in quel paese, vorrà dire che non potrò mai più far vedere al mio bambino dove è cresciuta la sua mamma.... questo mi riempie il cuore di tristezza. Ma sono comunque contenta per le vite dei miei familiari e conoscenti, perchè perlomeno non sono rimasti sotto al fango.

Io preferisco ricordare la mia Briga Superiore così come la vedete in questa foto qui sotto, ad oggi non so ancora in che condizioni è il paese e se la casa di mia nonna esista ancora.

The ANSA news agency reported Saturday that officials were blaming illegal home building in flood-prone areas for the casualties.

''What do you expect to happen if you build a house on the banks of a river?" he asked reporters while inspecting the scene Friday. "Water runs its course and if there are houses in the way, this is what happens."

Babette Blanket on Sept. 28 - 2009

Ecco i progressi di questo week end :) Ho terminato 50 blocchi da 2 giri ciascuno; La coperta nella sua interezza è composta da altri 49 blocchi da 4 giri; 16 blocchi da 6 giri; 7 blocchi da 8 giri; 2 blocchi da 10 e 2 blocchi da 12 giri: Il che vuol dire che numericamente, facendo una proporzione, su 125 blocchi totali, avendone fatti già 50, ho fatto il 40% del lavoro ^__^;;; però in pratica, i blocchi grandi mi prenderanno più tempo... ma lasciamo stare la matematica, per ora la cosa mi diverte moltissimo!

That's progress from this weekend :) I have completed 50 blocks of 2 round each; The whole blanket required other 49 blocks of 4 round, 6 blocks of 16 round, 7 blocks of 8 round, 2 blocks of 10 and 2 blocks of 12 round to be completed; which means that numerically, taking a proportion out of 125 total blocks, having already made 50, I made 40% of the work ^__^;;; But in practice, large blocks will take much more time to be finished... Setting aside the mathematics, for now I enjoy crochetting very much!

La pancia cresce! Mancano 20 giorni esatti.... ma secondo qualcuno che sta dietro alle fasi lunari, il mio piccolino potrebbe nascere dopo la prima domenica di ottobre, con la luna nuova.

My belly! I'm 37 week pregnant, only 20 day left to go!

Ieri è arrivata la lana che ho ordinato per la Babette Blanket. Il filato è un bellissimo Merino 100%, trattato per essere lavato in lavatrice e con colori davvero stupendi. Al tatto risulta molto morbido e devo dire che sono soddisfatta della qualità-prezzo. Ho quindi stampato immediatamente un foglio A4 per catalogare e tenere a portata di mano gli swatches di ogni colore, in modo da rendere più rapida la lavorazione dei blocchi che comporranno la coperta, soprattutto nei cambi di colore.
Tra ieri ed oggi ho completato il primo giro dei primi 50 blocchetti composti da 2 colori ciascuno, quindi prevedo che per il week end avrò terminato di crochettare tutti i 50 blocchi composti da 2 giri. Ho anche comprato 2 meravigliosi cesti crochettati per riporre le lane, che oltre ad essere davvero utili sono dei bei complementi d'arredo.

Yesterday I've received the wool that I ordered for the Babette Blanket. The yarn is a beautiful 100% Merinos wool, treated to be machine washed and colors are really wonderful. Touch is very soft and I must say I'm satisfied with the quality. I immediately printed an A4 to catalog and keep on hand the swatches of each color, so as to speed the processing of crocheting blocks that would make the cover, especially in the changes of color.
Between yesterday and today I completed the first round of the 50 blocks consisting of 2 colors each, so I expect that by the weekend I have finished crochetting all the 2 colors - 50 block. I also purchased 2 beautiful crochetted baskets to store the wool, which besides being very useful are beautiful home furnishings.

Un nuovo progetto - A new project

Come annunciato l'ultima volta che ho scritto, il cucitoio è ormai acqua passata, ed al suo posto c'è la nursery per accogliere il piccolo. In questo periodo ho lavato e stirato tutte le tutine, i body, lenzuolini, coperte per il bimbo e sistemato nei cassetti, ora è tutto pronto... e mancano ancora 5 settimane! Capirete anche voi che una come me non può starsene senza fare crafting, però tutto l'occorrente per il cucito è inacessibile... quindi... mi sono inventata un nuovo lavoretto per tenere le mani impegnate e far passare presto queste 5 settimane: torno allo strumento che occupa meno spazio di tutti, dove un cassetto o un cesto in salotto bastano ad accogliere tutto il necessario: Ritorno all'uncinetto!! Questo progetto tra l'altro mi stuzzicava già dalla prima volta che l'avevo visto iniziare da Mitsy di Artmind-Etcetera ma all'epoca avevo ancora il mio cucitoio. Così, dopo aver visto ancora un blog post di Mitsy, mi sono lanciata anche io in questa impresa: "Crochettare" una coperta "Old America" per il mio piccolino!! Ma non una coperta qualsiasi, ma La Coperta, quella che si chiama "Babette Blanket" e che fa proseliti in giro per il mondo, tanto è bella, infatti ho trovato anche un gruppo su Flickr al quale mi sono subito iscritta! Aspetto che mi arrivi la lana che ho ordinato in Inghilterra, più conveniente ed anche di migliore qualità, per iniziare il mio viaggio in questa nuova avventura, intanto sto riprendendo la mano esercitandomi con l'uncinetto. Ed infine ecco a Voi questa splendida meraviglia.

As announced last time I wrote, the sewing studio is now "water under the bridge", and in its place is the nursery to accommodate the baby. In that time I washed and ironed all suits, bodysuits, sheets, and blankets for the baby and placed in drawers, now everything is ready ... and there are 5 weeks more! You also understand that someone like me can not stay without crafting, but everything I need for sewing is inaccessible ... so ... I invented a new chore to keep my hands busy in those waiting days... I go back to the instrument that takes less space for everyone, where a drawer or a basket in the living room enough to accommodate everything you need: I Back to crochet! This project among others teased me at the first time I had seen the beginning at Artmind-Etcetera blog, but then I still had my sewing studio. Thus, even after seeing a blog post from Mitsy, I decided to go for this undertaking: " crocheting a "Old America" blanket for my little one! But not any blanket, but The blanket, what is called "Babette Blanket" and which has set a trend around the world, so much better, in fact I found a group on Flickr which I immediately entered! I only wait to receive the the wool I ordered from England, more convenient and even better, to start my journey in this new adventure, in the meantime I'm taking up exercising with hand crochet. And finally, here comes this beautiful wonder.

Packing up to make room for the baby

Eh si, l'arrivo di un bambino comporta rivoluzionare il proprio stile di vita ed i propri spazi. Ma in ogni caso sono cambiamenti che si accettano volentieri e che danno gioia. :) Io ed il papà (più il papà che io, visto il pancione), in questi giorni stiamo letteralmente smantellando il mio studio per fare posto alla stanzetta del piccolo, sto mettendo via con cura tutte le mie stoffe, svuotando le mensole e presto anche il tavolo da lavoro e la macchina da cucire saranno riposte ordinatamente nell'armadio a muro. Come vedete dalle foto, la mia pancia cresce, ormai mancano 2 mesi al lieto evento e quindi abbiamo acquistato le cose fondamentali per accogliere il piccolo. Il cassettone è già ben fornito. Non vedo l'ora che passino questi due mesi per poterlo finalmente abbracciare.
I miei lavori di cucito rimarranno per parecchio tempo chiusi nelle scatole, ma spero di riuscire comunque a fare qualcosa di tanto in tanto.

Oh yes, the arrival of a baby leads to revolutionize your lifestyle and your space. But in this case that changes are accepted willingly and giving joy. :) My dear Husband and I (mainly DH that I, 'cause the belly), in these days we are literally dismantling my Sewing Studio to make room for the baby room, I am carefully putting away all the fabrics, emptying the shelves and soon the work table and the sewing machine will be placed neatly in the wall-closet. As you can see from the photos, my belly is growing, there now 2 months by the happy event, so we bought the essential things to accommodate the little one. The drawer is already well supplied. I look forward to spend those two months to finally able to embrace. My sewing remain closed for some time in the boxes, but I hope to still be able to do something from time to time.

Etsy Italia Team Challenge e Preparativi per il baby

La sfida di luglio dell'Etsy Italia Team, lanciata da Priscilla, prevedeva la creazione di un oggetto ispirato ai 7 peccati capitali. Qualche settimana fa ho avuto la mia ispirazione ed ho disegnato e poi confezionato questo piccolo portamonete, è facile intuire che il peccato capitale che ho scelto è l'avarizia. Ne vado molto fiera, realizzato con un bellissimo e morbidissimo lino giapponese, foderato internamente con 100% cotonina americana ed imbottitura di cotone 100%. Il simbolo del dollaro, l'ho disegnato a mano con penne speciali per stoffa e fissato con ferro caldo per prevenire eventuali perdite di colore. La perlina ed il nastrino rendono la chiusura a zip ancora più preziosa... per custodire gelosamente il proprio Tesssoro :)

Questa estate torrida sta diventando insopportabile, con il pancione che cresce non riesco a fare nulla se non boccheggiare da una stanza all'altra. Ho approfittato però di un momento di fresco per creare questa collana, interamente realizzata in materiali ecobio! Infatti non ci sono parti metalliche, ed a parte il nastrino di nylon, il resto è costituito da cotone 100% e legno.

E' passato un mese ed io avrei dovuto fare questo post mooolto tempo prima!! E' stato un mese pieno per me e come avrete notato scrivo poco in questo periodo, il mio pancione cresce attendo con ansia il 3 giugno per fare l'ecografia morfologica e rivedere il mio piccolino!!
Tornando a Cindy, come avevo anticipato in un post precedente, è una persona eccezionale e quando viene a Trieste mi fa un enorme piacere vederla, peccato che ogni volta ci vediamo per poco tempo, spero che la prossima volta passeremo una giornata intera a chiacchierare e magari a fare shopping da Kiko (eh Cindy ;)).
Ci siamo incontrate in piazza Unità d'Italia e abbiamo fatto subito una sosta al caffè REX qualche metro più in la, in piazza della Borsa. Ci siamo scambiate i regali, e questo è il mio bottino!! Cindy ha fatto con le sue mani la splendida borsa e il porta pigiamo per il mio bebè, inoltre mi ha regalato delle bellissime ceramiche olandesi, un cuoricino, un paio di zoccoli tipici ed il porcellino salvadanaio dovve mettere i risparmi per il bimbo in arrivo :))

one month has passed and I would have done this post time ago! It 'been a month full for me and as you may have noticed I didn't wrote much in this period, my belly grows, I look forward to June 3 to ultrasound morphology and revise my baby!

Going back to Cindy, as I had earlier in a previous post, is an exceptional person and when she come in Trieste is a great pleasure to see her, it's a pity that every time we see each other for a short time, I hope that the next time will spend a full day for a chat and perhaps to go shopping by Kiko (Cindy eh;)).
We met in square Unità d'Italia and we just made a stop at the coffee REX few meters in the square Borsa. There we exchanged gifts, and this is my booty! Cindy has done with her hands the wonderful fellowship and the lovely sheep, a pigiama holder for my baby, also gave me some beautiful Dutch pottery, a heart, a pair of typical hooves and the piggy bank for savings some money for the baby : ))

Oggi vado un po' "off topic" rispetto al solito, parliamo di Make Up, Vi va?
Ho sempre visto la mia mamma e le mie zie trafficare con ombretti colorati, matite, mascara e rossetti e così quando verso i 16 anni ho iniziato a truccarmi anche io le mie mani andavano sicure e non ho mai avuto problemi nell'ottenere gli effetti desiderati.
Da un po' di tempo ho scoperto però che con il MakeUp si può osare davvero più di quanto faccia io solitamente, restando comunque sull'eleganza senza trascendere nel volgare o pacchiano...
Ho scoperto una deliziosa make up artist, giovanissima ed italianissima che però vive a New York: Clio Zammatteo. Il suo canale su Youtube è uno dei più seguiti ed in brevissimo tempo è diventata una vera guru del make up, tanto che è prevista l'uscita del suo primo libro per Natale 2009.
Clio è davvero simpatica oltre che molto brava nello spiegare come realizzare i trucchi e da un sacco di consigli sui prodotti da usare.
Dopo aver visto uno dei suoi video ho finalmente carpito i segreti di un perfetto smokey eyes, lo facevo già prima, ma mai così preciso e senza la minima sbavatura.

I discovered a delicious make-up artist, she's young and Italian but lives in New York: Clio Zammatteo. Her channel on Youtube is one of the most popular and in short time has become a real guru of make up, so there will be the release of his first book for Christmas 2009.
Clio is really nice as well as very good in explaining how the tricks and a lot of advice on products to use.
After seeing one of her videos, I finally capture the secrets of a perfect smokey eyes, did it before, but never so precisely and without any snagging.

Ieri mattina ho deciso che i miei cosmetici avevano bisogno di una pochette più grande. Finora ho tenuto il trucco per gli occhi (ombretti, il mascara, matite etc.) in una pochette e l'occorrente per le guance e la bocca (pennelli, terra, fard, rossetti, etc.) in un'altra bustina. Succedeva che magari una busta era in camera da letto e l'altra pochette nel bagno, oppure l'eyeliner anzichè essere riposto nella bustina del trucco occhi, finiva in quell'altra... uff... Così mi sono detta: Fanne una grande da poter tenere tutto insieme. :) Fatto ed ecco il risultato:

Yesterday morning I decided that my cosmetics needed much more room. So far I've kept the eye cosmetics (eyelashes, mascara, pencils etc.) in a pochette and materials for cheeks and lips (brush, fard, lipsticks, etc..) into another bag. But often happens that an envelope is in the bedroom and the other pochette in the bathroom, or the eyeliner instead of being placed in the eye makeup's bag, went in that other ... uff ... So I said to myself: Make a bigger one to be able to keep everything together. :) I've done it and this is the result:

Dear Jane & baby quilt.

Poco più di una settimana fa ho scoperto che Viviana si è lasciata incantare dal Dear Jane... e come darle torto?! Sono anni che anche io muoio dietro a questo quilt, non ho mai avuto il coraggio di iniziare perchè l'idea di tutti quei blocchetti, del bordo a triangoli e la complessità del progetto mi ha fatto desistere pur avendo il libro. Però Viv ha risvegliato in me la voglia di provarci, grazie a lei ho anche trovato altre amiche che si stanno cimentando in questa impresa, così mi sono iscritta anche io al blog Dear Jane Italia ed ho iniziato il mio Baby Dear Jane!

For years, I have sigh for this quilt, but I never had the courage to start because the idea of all those blocks, edge to triangles and the complexity of the project made me desist. But Viv has awakened in me the desire to try, thanks to her I have also found other friends who are engage in this undertaking, so I enrolled myself to the blog Dear Jane Italia and I started my Baby Dear Jane!

In questi giorni però mi sono fermata per un altro progetto al quale stavo lavorando prima di iniziare il dear jane.

Ho finito il top, devo ancora aggiungere il bordo, ma per quello aspetto di sapere se sarà maschio o femmina e dopo mi regolo di conseguenza (bordo rosa o azzurro... lo sapremo tra un mese!).

Qui la foto, che non rende granchè, devo decidermi a cambiare macchina fotografica, ma quella che vorrei io costa troppo! :O)

Mi sono innamorata immediatamente dei suoi personaggi così surreali che pure hanno quel certo "non so che" -- che ti entra dentro, ti prende e ti racconta un sacco di cose, della persona che c'è dietro al personaggio, surreale si, ma al tempo stesso terreno, riconosci in ognuno di questi soggetti l'amico, il nemico, la persona di evitare, quella per la vita, un'altra da ammirare.

I immediately fell in love of his characters so surreal that also have that certain "I do not know what" - that took you inside, that tells you a lot of things, the person behind the character, is surreal, but at the same time, real, you can recognized in each of these subjects a friend, the enemy, the person to avoid, that one for life, another to be admired.

Paul Moschell stesso risulta essere un artista che colpisce non soltanto per l'aspetto, (onestamente è un gran bel ragazzone di 37 anni per 187cm), ma guardando i suoi video e la genialità delle cose che fa, ti accorgi subito che presto questo artista emergente diventerà un artista affermato ed io glielo auguro.

Paul Moschell himself is an artist that not only affects the appearance, (honestly is a beautiful 37 years old guy) but watching his videos and the genius of the things he does, you realize immediately that the emerging artist will be soon a famous artist, and I hope so.

La stampa è arrivata ed è bellissima, inoltre Paul l'ha autografata ed accompagnata da un certificato di autenticità, anchesso autografato dall'artista. Inoltre il packaging è stato estremamente curato per preservarla da eventuali danneggiamenti nel trasporto. Infatti è arrivata perfettamente integra e senza una minima piegatura.

Furthermore the packaging has been very carefully thought out to avoid any damage in transport. The print arrived perfectly intact and without a minimum bending.

Viste le statistiche del blog e assodato che la maggioranza dei miei lettori proviene dall'Italia, da oggi la lingua primaria sarà l'italiano, manterrò ugualmente la lingua inglese per i lettori degli altri paesi.

Innanzitutto vi mostro la mia panciolina, domani sarò a 13+2 il che vuol dire che entro nel 4° mese di gravidanza. Yuppy!!

Ho da poco ripreso a cucire a macchina, poco al giorno, non più di mezzora a dir la verità, per non stancarmi e non creare danni visti i problemi iniziali, ma ho ripreso anche a fare patchwork, che avevo quasi dimenticato e grazie ad una mia amica che è bravissima e dalla quale ho avuto questa meravigliosa borsa sfrangiata con il gufo, ho deciso di farne una simile, con l'applicazione in feltro di lana, ispirato ad una realizzazione di Marianne di the cinnamon patch, per la figlia del mio compagno. Mi piace un sacco come è venuta!

I have recently back to the sewing machine, just a little day, no more than half an hour to tell the truth, to not harm the baby, given the initial problems; I also picked up to do patchwork, I had almost forgotten and thanks to a My friend Irene, who is very good and from who I had this wonderful fuzzy owl bag, I decided to make a similar one, with the wool felt application, inspired by a realization of Marianne of the cinnamon patch, for my daughter's boyfriend. I like a lot how it is coming out!

Infine per restare in tema patchwork, la scorsa settimana ho cominciato una nuova avventura, ho disegnato e testato dei blocchi a paper piecing per la confezione di un miniquilt! Segui le "notizie" sulla barra a destra del sito!. Il mio è già imbastito e pronto per la quiltatura. :) Sono fiera di me!

Finally in order to remain patchwork theme, last week I started a new adventure, I have designed and tested some paper piecing blocks for making up a miniquilt! The blocks are already given by this week on the official site of Giusypatch as a block of the week, with the title Paper Piecing Houses. Follow the "notizie" on the right bar menu of the site. Mine is already basted and ready to be quilted :) I am proud of me!

March is gone and I made just one post, shame on me :) but it was for a good cause. I've got my first ultrasound-echography this afternoon, and I can say that I'm a happy mom of a 12 weeks baby that meausure 55,3mm :)

in the meantime, the last month I rested a lot, I'm working on a crib quilt for the baby and I do some hand stitching. I resumed one of my old favorites hobby: quilting! so I made 2 new items for the shop, a pincushion and a patchwork needle book.
This one made the Etsy front page on March 31!

It's more than a month from the last blogpost, now, if you check the #13 of that post, you will know why I was off for all that time...... :))

I didn't know when I wrote the "16 things about me", I discovered that 12 days later.... and if you just wondering about... Yes, I will have a baby!
Today it 10° week I am pregnant.
I've got some problems at the begins of the pregnancy, so my doctor keep me at home from work immediately.
I can't wait to be in the 4th month, so I will be less anxious, for now I'm staying home to rest.

Meanwhile, quietly so as not tired, in those days I have sewn, a little at a time, a diaper bag.
And today I finished, here it is.

I know Mitsy of ArtMind when I signed up to the European Street Team on Etsy, but I didn't truly know her until she started the "99 feelings" project.

I started my 2009 with Tea and Cupcakes

I started my 2009 with many good intentions personal for me and my family and I have also taken up the good habit of crafting.
Some time ago in this post, I talked about hand carved stamp! I like a lot and I also like them, I enjoy very much. I created these cups and this Cupcake to personalize the card accompanying the Travel Tea Bags, which have their certificate with a theme poem attached.

2008 ended with a great December and I want to thanks for it! I have also always been very careful to spoil the recipient of my creations, and this coming year I want to continue on this road! In fact, I have a give away for those who grab a moleskine's notebook cover at my Dawanda or Etsy: these colorful handmade notebooks combined with moleskine's cover!! Isn't it nice? This you see here is going to a happy customer.

As a member of the European Street Team on Etsy, this year I was so lucky to take part of the Secret Santa organized by the amazing Artmind.
The deadline for sending out the gift to our secret friend was december 10, but most of the people sent the gifts some days before this date, so even if isn't still Xmas, most of us couldn't resisted to open it :)
When I've receive the name of whom I was the Secret Santa, I was really happy! She is Amada Yu of Amanda Yu Design.
I've decided to make more than one gift for Amanda and I had great fun, the happiest part it was making the bunny pouch, I love it and hope Amanda loves it too.

Handmade Spaces: Le Coccole

Today I have a wonderful little handmade space to bring you from Giusy, an Italian crafter who sells her cute fabric wares in her Dawanda shop, Le Coccole di Giusypatch! What do you create in this space?

In this space I reload my energy, it's magical. I am sit in front of the sewing machine for a moment and ideas come to me. When I don't have much time, I simply write or sketch a design on my notebook. Here is where my creations, the bags, the wallets, are born. It's where I developed the idea of the moleskine's cover, while I was taking notes on my large scratch-book; and then smart phone covers, pouches etc. Everything that has a seam, is born here!

Where is it located?

As I’m an independent artist and as I can’t afford a brick and mortar shop in my country, I have a small studio in my house that is just 2 x 2 meters. It is separated from the bedroom by two panels of plasterboard so I can have the privacy needed to sew up late, without disturbing my partner. If you're wondering where I keep the rest of the fabric (and I have a lot) or finished bags and accessories before send them out, I have a separate cupboard where I can keep all my treasures!

What sort of tools/equipment do you use?
My sewing machine is my best friend here! I have fabric, a sewing machine and tools for cutting like the mat, rotary cutter, scissors...Needles and threads are essential, without these I could not do anything. For the rest I use materials of good quality and my hands, the most precise tools of all :)

What inspirations do you keep nearby?

I take inspiration mainly from fabric designers and from what a particular fabric and texture can give me. As a good Italian, I like to combine fashion with practicality. For example, my bags are designed both to be carried in the evening and during the day- they're not too sporty and not too elegant. Another source of inspiration is technology- I am fascinated by all the tech instruments we use daily. I take inspiration from these things while trying to keep traditions intact. This is why I wanted to create, for example, mobile phone covers! Using environmentally friendly materials like cloth and pure padding cotton, which makes it impossible to generate static electricity and discharge the battery, for the most modern phones like the blackberry or Iphone.

What do you like to listen to/watch while creating? Or is silence best?

During the spring and summer I have millions of birds flying out in my garden, so I love to listen their songs. At the moment, after the swallow's migration, I like to listen the "Mamma mia!" soundtrack, do you know Abba?! Their music is great, and it makes me smile. If I'm not at the sewing machine, but at the iron board, you can see me dancing in my small studio, he he!

How do you feel when you enter your handmade space?
As I wrote at the beginning, here is where I reload my energies... when I'm in my studio I am relaxed, all the tensions accumulated during the day thin out because I'm finally in a place I love deeply, where my creativity is free to go out and take its "shape".
